What were disappointments for you?

I did come on to write a book-ban update with mini reviews for what I have read... BUT.. I really want to do a pot on this:

''What books/series etc. have you found to be a big disappointment?''

I try to go into every book with very, very low expectations  even if I know I'm going to love it to avoid disappointment although sometimes it isn't easy. Here are my top 3 book disappointments, my next post will be 'Top 5 books/series that I didn't think I would like but loved''

Anyway, on to the list:

1. The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa.

Eh, I know a lot of people would kill me for this judgement but I honestly didn't really like this trilogy. I didn't like any of the characters and I thought the relationship between Meghan and Ash was just silly and cheesy. Well, I liked the first book but after reading 2 and 3 my whole opinion of the series isn't that positive. I don't know, I'll re-read it in a few months maybe my opinion will be higher then.

[will edit with pic]
2. The way of the shadows by Brent Weeks

I was really looking forward to this one. It was alright but the ending left me with no desire to read the other 2.

3.The Iron Witch by Karen Mahoney

This one looked very good and I couldn't wait for my pre-order to come but after I read it it eared a rare 1 star. Why? It was the same thing over and over again, the main character explaining the same things over and over again to different people. Then a lot of the book was her feeling sorry for herself and come on would someone get bullied as bad as she did for wearing gloves in real life? I also felt like not much happened and then it the last section of the book lots happened quickly. For me this is a big miss.

What are your disappointments? I was originally going to do 5 but any other book I have a low opinion of I expected it. Feel free to do 5 if you hae 5 (:

Book Buying Ban!

I haven't posted for awhile on either of my blogs since my health has been horrific, sorry! I know I don't have any followers but if I do one day I don't want you looking back and seeing my slacking XD''

I have decided to do a book buying ban because I got a massive box of books, most of them brand new for 1p free postage(!!!!) I also need to catch up on books I haven't read.

Here is how I have decided to work it:

-Pick sets of 10 books
-Every 5 books read = 1 credit
-1 credit = 1 book under £5 2 credits = 1 book up to £10
-Every set of 10 earns 1 credit.

These are the first 10 books I picked for Set 1:

13 Treasures - I have been meaning to read this since it was on pre-order when I was 12! I thought it was finally time to read it especially since I have the whole trilogy

Pegasus and the Flame - Sure, it's a kids book. I thought it looked cute so I picked it up nearly a year ago for my birthday. I thought I should pick it for this challenge since other wise I would probably never get round to it.

Lament - Same story as Pegasus really, apart from the kiddy bit, I think this is aimed at someone a bit older than Pegasus.

To Kill A Mockingbird - I have decided to read 1 classic a month from now on and this is the first one I bought for the challenge, I thought this challenge would be a good chance to start it.

I am number Four - ugh. I have had this since lament and Pegasus and have been dreading reading it. I have no idea what possessed me to pick it up and for £8! My expectations are really low.

Boys don't cry - I have had this since the hardback came out, Malorie was my favorite childhood author so I wanted to read this but never got to it!

Cold Magic - I recently got this. I was excited for it but when it came I just felt 'meh' so even though it's new I put it in this challenge to make sure I read it.

The Demon King - I have wanted to read something from Cinda for ages!! I got this brand new for 1p free postage and even though I wanted to read her other trilogy first I will read this because I have wanted to for ages.

Hush, hush. I really didn't want to read this, I have had it for ages. The only reason I got it is because I found a signed hardback for crescendo and needed to have 1.

The Magicians Apprentice - I LOVED the Black Magician trilogy so I'm very excited for this prequel.

-------------------
I have read Hush, Hush and Pegasus and the Flame already and have started 13 Treasures, I'm shocked at all of them! They are nothing like I thought they'd be!

Hush, hush whilst not brilliant was okay! I'm looking forward to reading Crescendo, Pegasus and the Flame was very good and a bit reminiscent of Percy Jackson and well i'm only 19 pages into 13 treasures.

Hopefully this will keep going well.
